I do love a press day! Who wouldn’t want to have a sneak peak at the next seasons new stock before it hits the shelves!? One of my favourite AW16 press days so far has been the River Island Xmas 16 event. Full of Gucci dupes, oriental embroidery, all things sparkly and Cronut cone ice creams! Keep reading to see pictures of what’s to come…
Oriental embroidery has been a huge fashion trend recently, particularly at Fashion Week, and River Island is hot on it! From backpacks to shoes to hats, this unique style of artistic needle work has made a prominent appearance in RI’s A/W collection.
Stars… because its Christmas season.
As we all know, I wear a lot of monochrome, which is how I started my blog. However, *spoiler alert* I am still attracted to colour. Particularly this cream western style print! I love how the turquoise and tan colour compliment each other. River Island have nailed this, with tops, dresses and trousers in the same print.
All things glitzy, sparkly, shiny, metallic and sequinned for the festive season.
These gold metallic cross over mules are so similar to the statement pair that Gucci put down the runway. Get the look for less!
Dum Dum Donuterie were there delivering their infamous ‘cronuts’ (croissant mixed with doughnut) in the form of ice cream cones. They magically appeared at the push of a button from the beautiful vending machine pictured above. Delicious!
The embroidered shoe of dreams! These gorgeous floral boot heels were my biggest LOVE from the day, right at the top of my wishlist. I can’t contain my excitement for when these babies hit River Island stores! “I’ll be having 10 pairs please!”
How cute are these black patent booties?! I love the sixties buckle detail near the toes. Super chic and perfect for taking a work look into the evening.
I am such a magpie! So much love for a sparkly statement piece, this mini glitter back pack for example. Perfect for Christmas and New Years celebrations, when you need something slightly larger than a clutch bag.
More AW16 press days to come, including videos. Keep checking back!
