As you may have seen in my past posts, I was an intern at Richard Nicoll from March – June. Within that time I got to see these 2 incredible collections come to light and I wanted to share with you the final outcomes…
The Resort collection is gorgeous. It fits Richard Nicoll’s brand aesthetics perfectly with its simple chic look. The second image shows an amazing paper/foil like fabric that has also been used in his Menswear SS15 collection. It’s so delicate and fragile looking. I helped with the finishing on the open chunky knitwear garments. This collection has to be one of my favourites of Richard’s.
Richard’s ideas behind this collection were ‘future hippie cyberpunk’. This was most certainly achieved through their use of laminating the japanese tie-dye shibori prints along with the other varied fabrics like the paper fabric I spoke about above. I was lucky enough to be working back stage dressing the models so got a first hand look of the collection before it hit the runway, as well as working with the team and experiencing the start to finish cycle. Below are some backstage pictures I took….
